COMMUNITY BOGO DINNER
Every Plate Full is a Food Banks Canada initiative with the goal of filling the plates of every hungry Canadian this summer. The summer months are particularly difficult for food banks as our reserves fall alarmingly low. Our Community BOGO Dinner is our main fundraiser in the spring to carry us through these leaner months AND it is awesome.
When: Tuesday May 16th, 4:30 – 7 pm
Where: St. James’ Anglican Church hall, 225 Edmund St., Carleton Place
Cost: $30 for adults, $20 for seniors/children (6-12)
Chef Roger Weldon will be directing our volunteer kitchen staff to create ambrosia along with Rob Carpenter of The Beckwith Butcher. As well, the Mississppi Mudds, in full costume, will be serving our guests. The theme for this year’s dinner is “On the Silk Road” and you will travel and dine with us from England, to Morocco, to India, to China.
It is a 4-course meal consisting of:
- Sweet Potato & Carrot Soup
- Salad with garden fresh tender greens
- Moroccan Dry-Rubbed Chicken with Brown Rice and Smoked Vegetables
- Lemon or Chocolate-Filled Pastry Tart
Buy One, Give One – every ticket bought buys your dinner and a dinner for a Food Bank client.
Tickets are available at The Granary, The Beckwith Butcher and at The Hunger Stop.
